Stargazing at the Manila Observatory at 2am. We were able to photograph the Moon, Saturn, Mars, and the Orion Nebula this very early morning with the help of amateur astronomers and their powerful telescopes.
If you would notice the orange glow in the sky below the moon, this is called Light Pollution. The abundance of atmospheric aerosols in the atmosphere and the light source around the city cause the sky to “glow” by scattering and absorbing city light. The orange color of the glow in the photo is caused by the color of tungsten light sources. Lesser populated areas do not experience this because of the cleaner air and lesser lights at night. Light Pollution is the main problem of astronomers observing the sky in major cities.
